- Hit and run comp crush:
- This strategy requires at least two human players
to do efficiently, and works best on small maps
(Use it just to get wins). One player is
designated as scout, and one as rusher. The scout
simply sends one Harvester to scout, and when the
comp is located, fires one shot at the enemy Town
Center. The comp will be fast to respond, so send
the Harvester running all over the map with the
comp's Harvesters trailing behind. This tactic
works very well at slowing down production,
making the comp very vulnerable to the rush the
other player has been preparing all this time.

- General beginning strategy (By
Erol0, edited by MaxxBlackice):
- At the beginning of any game you should start to
build Harvesters until you have reached the
starting population limit (9-10, depending on
your race). You should assign 2 of your Harvesters
to each mineral patch so that you are always
getting money. Assigning 3-4 to each Vespene geyser
is best if your Town Center is very close to it.
After you have reached the population limit for
the first time, start to build Supply Depots, Overlords,
or Pylons depending on the race you have chosen
or had chosen for you. Now is when the races'
strategies diverge, so look to the race-specific
strategies below.

- General Terran strategy (By
Erol0, edited by MaxxBlackice):
- With Terran afer you have built 2-3 supply depots,
also build 2-3 barracks as well and start
cranking out marines. Marines are very helpful in
clusters. Take an SCV and go to the edge of your
base and build bunkers to place your marines
inside of. Also build a few supply depots in
front of these bunkers as they provide extra time
to destroy an enemy trying to get through to your
base. Make about 4 bunkers to start you can make
more if you feel you need to or are a little
claustraphopic. That and a few marines should
protect your base from most any race's land units
if you wisely protect them. The moment you have
enough Vespene build a Factory so that you can
develop Seige Tanks, a main benefactor to winning
a game with. They provide good defensive and
offensive attacks. As soon as possible you should
also scout the area with an SCV or a couple of
marines to locate the enemy(s). One method to
winning with Terrans is to load 2 Siege Tanks
with siege mode, an SCV, and several Marines into
Transports and rush the enemy. In this type of
Siege Tank rush, you attack with 2 Tanks in Siege
mode (which you hopefully researched at the
Machine Shop or your efforts will be useless) and
build a Bunker(s) to protect the Siege Tanks and
place the marines in it. This is just one strategy
possible if you want to beat a game with the
Terrans. There is always a rush where you are
just depending on safety in numbers. When its
also possible you should make nukes; they are SO
FUN! Of course, if you have allies make sure they
aren't attacking the enemy base with you when you
decide to nuke or his units (lets say 12 Carriers)
will get nuked along with the base. (unless a Protoss
Arbiter puts them in stasis beforehand).
-
- General Zerg strategy (By Erol0,
edited by MaxxBlackice):
- In Brood Wars this race is the toughest to fight
when they are computer controlled because they
will relentlessly attack with huge groups of
units. Once you follow the general starting
strategy, use Drones to morph a Spawning Pool and
an Extractor. After a Spawning Pool is made you
should start morphing Zerglings and Sunken
Colonies. Build a few around your base and use
another Drone to make Hydralisk Den, in which you
should evolve Lurkers as soon as you have morphed
your Hatchery into a Lair. Also, since your units
don't come out of Spawning Pools but Hatcheries
(and the like), make another Hatchery or two.
Zerg are pretty weak as individuals so always
attack in swarms. A Guardian/Devourer attack
should kill the enemy if you have enough of them
because they attack land and air with a vengance.
This is basically the best way to win a game with
Zerg; I [Erol0]
should know because it has been done to me
before. Lurkers are a fun new unit to use, but be
sure your allies don't place units in front of
the Lurkers; even though the Lurkers' attacks
dont affect your units, they WILL affect all
other players, friendly or otherwise.

- General Protoss strategy (By
Erol0):
- Still to come.
